It's no secret, how good you get and how fast you improve directly relates to how much practice you do. But with work, kids, and the 100 other "must do" activities that we have to cram into the day, there seems to be no time left for the guitar. And according to various experts, it takes at least 21 days to build and develop a brand new habit.
So what do you do?
The solution is surprisingly simple... You see, behavioral science tells us is that we are pain avoiding animals that make decisions in a time-inconsistent manner.
Put simply, we hate losing things and give into immediate gratification (e.g. watching tv) at the expense of our longer term goals (e.g. learning to play guitar).
The good news is that research has also discovered two factors that when combined, can help people to achieve the behavior change(s) they desire.
They are:
1. Incentives and,
2. Accountability.
Studies show that using incentives and accountability can get people to do the things they want. And it is for this reason that we created our monthly 21 Day Practice Challenges with one simple goal in mind. Help you to develop the habit of practicing the guitar regularly.
Our monthly 21 Day Practice Challenges which kick off on the first Monday of each month, are a fun and easy way to leverage the power of both incentives and accountability to help you develop the important habit of practicing the guitar regularly.
